Carol A. Foster, M.D.,
lives in Phoenix with her two daughters: Melissa, and Jennifer. A West Virginia native, she is a 1985 graduate of Marshall University School of Medicine. A migraine sufferer herself, Dr. Foster chose neurology as a specialty, and in 1989 completed neurology residency at the Barrow Neurological Institute, which included a headache clerkship at the Princess Margaret Migraine Clinic in London. Later that same year, she set up her practice in Phoenix and established the Valley Neurological Headache and Research Center.

By 1990, Dr. Foster had established her practice as a private clinic dedicated to the treatment and research of headache disorders. True to her heritage, she brings a down-to-earth, no-nonsense approach to her patients and everyone she meets. Dr. Foster has cultivated a passion to better inform and teach patients, health care professionals and the general public that there is more to treating headache than taking a pill.

Dr. Foster is a reviewer for the medical journals Headache and Headache Quarterly. She is author of medical publications on headache. She has served and is currently serving as principal investigator for several pharmacological studies. She is currently serving on the Zomig Advisory Board and is a member of the speakers bureau for Zeneca, Glaxo, Merck and Novartis, leaders in migraine drug research and development. She has given a number of lectures and seminars on the topic of headache and has made numerous television and radio appearances. She is a member of the clinical teaching staff of Good Samaritan Medical Center Family Practice Residency and Midwestern University Osteopathic School of Medicine.

As folks back home in the Appalachian foothills often say, "She has a gift for gab." And it is that God-given gift that allows her the ability to communicate complicated medical information to her many patients so that they can accept and begin treating their headache disease with an effective comprehensive program. As a matter of fact, one of her employees sums it up well: "She is a walking, talking sound-bite of information on headache." Dr. Foster lives her personal and professional life pressing toward the prize which God has set before her and gives all the glory and praise to her Heavenly Father.
